5 Reasons YOU Should Sign Up for the CrossFit Open
The first 2015 CrossFit Open events will be announced Thursday, February 26 and you can register any time up until the first event submission deadline the following Monday.
- Be a Part of Something Huge
Last year, more than 200,000 people signed up for the Open. With such a wide range of CrossFitters involved, it’s a great way to see how you stack up against the rest of the world. How will your score compare to Rich or Camille’s?Where will you rank vs. last year? This is your chance to find out.
- It’s More Accessible Than Ever
Only a small percentage of athletes sign up for a chance to go to Regionals or the Games. For the rest of us, it’s just a fun way to meet more CFW members and have some fun. This year, with the scaled option, it’s even more accessible. So don’t worry about whether you’re fit enough– it’s for everyone, so give it a chance.
- Test Yourself and Set Benchmarks
The Open is a fantastic way to get a sense of your strengths and weaknesses, and find new things to work on over thenext year. Plus, you might even PR or get your first pull-up!
- It’s a Great Introduction for Friends and Family
Want to show your friends and family what it’s all about? Want to give your kids a chance to cheer you on? The Open is a party, it’s a way for us to throw down and celebrate the hard work we’ve put in over the last year. We encourage you to bring friends and family to watch you complete the workouts – that’s half the fun!
- You Have Nothing to Lose
You have nothing to lose, and you’ll regret it if you don’t sign up. That’s not a threat, but it is a warning. We saw a lot of members last year wish that they’d signed up after the fact, so don’t be that guy or gal!
We’re not saying the Open is easy. At moments, it might feel absolutely horrible (14.5 anyone?). In the end, though, it’s about putting yourself out there, supporting your fellow CFW members and celebrating your progress.
So what have you got to lose?
Sign up here, you know you want to.
