Welcome to the Fuel for Fall Performance Nutrition Challenge Blog.  This week will be all about planning and preparing for the month and week ahead.

Your daily bonus challenge for Tuesday, November 18th is to clean out your pantry.  This means removing anything you think will sabotage you during the challenge. Since this challenge is more about what to eat, rather than what not to eat, we’ll add one more piece to this challenge, which is to make sure that your pantry is stocked with some non perishable protein, fat and carb options. For protein, I suggest some canned fish or jerky.  For fat, ribbon coconut, almonds, and other nuts and nut butters are a great option.  For carbs i.e. fruits and veggies, you can get some dried fruit such as gogi berries. Dried fruit is a good  option for convenience food as long as there’s no added sugar or vegetable oils. If you want to lean out, consider less sugary options such as pickles, or go the freezer route and grab some frozen vegetables and berries. Give yourself the bonus point if you are satisfied with the state of your pantry for the next 30 days by end of day today.

Here is a handy guide to cleaning out your pantry. You’ll have to fill it up again, so here’s a guide to stocking your pantry and here’s another good staples listThis one is from paleo on a budget.
